The Parish Council would like to make the following statement in response to continuous concerns raised by some council members regarding the compliance and credibility of the Broughton Astley Parish Council accounting records and processes:
Following repeated scrutiny and repetitive analysis of the Parish Council accounts and credibility and ability of the staff to implement and process the accounts detail, it was agreed that an independent financial review would be undertaken.
We are pleased to announce that the findings of the independent financial review and subsequent report submitted to the Full Council confirmed the accounts package, detail, and recording of transactions were and remain fully compliant.

Asset Register
FIXED ASSET REGISTER
Local councils must maintain an asset register to ensure its fixed assets are appropriately safeguarded. Once recorded on the asset register, the value of assets must not change from year to year until disposal. Concepts of depreciation and impairment adjustments are not appropriate for local councils.
The Register is a working document, which over each Municipal Year, the Council Officers will update and amend details, as necessary.
